An Introduction to SGI and Nichiren Buddhism (event)

I practice Nichiren Buddhism with the SGI, as you probably know from my previous blog posts. If you’d like to learn more about the SGI and Nichiren Buddhism and how it can make an impact on your life, please join us for our introductory event on 14 January 2018 in Ipswich.

I’ve been awarded the 2017 Nobel Peace Prize!

dove-2901955_1920Technically it was awarded to the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN), although I played my part…

For a few years now I’ve wanted to donate some of my time to charity and I have volunteered in various roles. In June 2016 I started volunteering for the Soka Gakkai International (SGI). I’ve often wondered if this is a worthy cause and then I remind myself that the purpose of the Soka Gakkai is to achieve Kosen Rufu (world peace) in the world and that’s probably the best cause there is. Sending love and light to Presidents Trump and Kim Jong-un

Martin Luther King - Hate cannot drive out hate only love can do that.

In November 2016 when Donald Trump was elected President I was among many to be shocked. Although my immediate reaction was one of disbelief, this was immediately followed by an urgent need to send Donald Trump love and light and pray that he connect to his higher self / Buddhahood. In light of recent events, i.e. the situation in North Korea, I feel this is even more imperative and that we can also send love and light to Kim Jong-un and pray for him to reveal his higher self / Buddhahood. (BTW, has anyone else noticed that his name rhymes with wrong-un? Haha) More

From Fat Girl to Curvy Goddess

Embrace film in aid of the Body Image Movement Ipswich June 2017

I have been overweight for most of my adult life. As a child one of my friends Mum’s compared me to her daughter saying I was fat and her daughter was slim. For years I assumed I was fat, even though I was probably one of the smallest in my class. When I was 18 I was about 8 stone and a size eight but I still thought I was fat. More

Please Sir, can I have my #thyroid medicine back?

Liothyronine (T3)

EARLY 2017

I was called in to see my Dr a few weeks ago and told they could no longer supply my T3 medication as the CCG had stopped funding it due to it being so expensive. I was diagnosed with an underactive thyroid was I was 17 and I have had problems with fatigue since I was a teenager. I have never been quite right since then but I have been much better for the last couple of years and I believe that is mainly due to two things: 1) being prescribed T3 and 2) improved diet. So when I was told they were stopping my T3 I was pretty unimpressed as you can imagine.

A Crazy Few Months

I originally wrote this blog a few weeks ago when things had calmed down. Before I had a chance to publish it I was swept up in another few weeks of frenzied activity.

What a crazy few months I had. When I started to feel better and gained some clarity I decided to get off my arse and get a job. I updated my CV and put it online. I wanted a part-time job so that I could focus on building up the business again. More

Sending Love and Light to the President Elect

I thought Brexit was bad but Donald Trump as President! That’s taking the p*ss. To be fair, Hilary Clinton was only a marginally better choice in my humble opinion and it is slightly concerning that Trump and Clinton were the best candidates that could be found. More
